That's a very handy color. Mine is almost gone, and the local FLGS doesn't stock GW paints anymore to get its replacement. Anyone know a good substitute in a craft paint? |

Thanks, Dan. The consistency and flow properties, as well as the color itself, are unique. I can't imagine using it for terrain at the usual price! Some "scratch built" buildings etc in old White Dwarfs must have used $200 USD worth of Citadel paints. It's lije PollyS Ogre Dark Brown. Unique properties. We all could probably start a thread noaning about favotite "obsolete" paints. |

As for craft paints, I don't think I've ever seen this particular Delta Ceramcoat color before, Autumn Brown: link link
I wonder how it compares to the Snakebite Leather when seen in person.
linkHere the Autumn Brown looks a little bit different (darker) from the all-surface version: link link Dan PS. And here's their Spice Brown: link

Looks like Americana's "Raw Sienna" to me. |

Skipper John True. I'm looking at the Americana Raw Sienna (DA93) right here in front of me on my desk. It is very close too.
Dan PS. And the Americana "Cocoa" DA259: link |

CC – your snakebite pot changes colour as I scroll up the screen ! I know this is to do with screen viewing angle, but others may not be aware that the colour on the screen is a function of lots of different things and is not constant. |

I use autumn brown and spice brown for all sorts of things, horses, canteens, straps, gunstocks, spears and hair. |

Well, if you want to mix your own, according to an old paint mix chart I have: Snakebite Leather = Blood Red : Enchanted Blue : Sunburst Yellow : White Mix 1:1:2:1 YMMV ;-) |

Zephyr1 Nice formula! The red and yellow would explain the orange tone of the color. And the blue would make the orange look more like a dirty brown mustard, so adding the white would be the next logical step to bring it back up. Dan |
