The Gentlemen Wargamers moved far to the East for our latest ATF game, using 10mm miniatures and the 2nd Edition Napoleonic Command rules. The scenario and terrain were provided courtesy of David Ensteness of The Wargaming Company.

Great example of the fog of war giving an historical result; I was all set to make a push on the Russian left (despite being given orders only to 'demonstrate' – it's called "Friction") when I realised that my Brigades were at half strength. Being unwilling to push with the forces available I sat still and followed my orders. I suspect my oppo on the Russian right would have done the same thing.

For some reason this AAR shows up in Albums but not under Collections -> ATF games. Weird.

Another nice looking game with great photos and a superb AAR. I always enjoy reading these. I've become so familiar with the ATF games I can tell you were playing on David's terrain mat (though I admit I'm not sure whose troops are maneuvering across it…). grin

where is the AAR? Also, I don't see captions on photos?

rmcaras: On the Album page, click on the first photo to go to Slideshow mode. The captions are below the photos on each page of the slideshow.

Ix: It's not weird . . . I just forgot to link the album to the Collections page. It's fixed now.

The figures were from the collections of myself, Elliott and Joe. You can tell Joe's infantry (the Russians) because they're based for Fields of Glory Napoleonics, so the stands are a little wider. This was not an issue because three of his stands have the same width as four of mine or Elliott's, so we used three per battalion to get the correct frontage, but counted them as four for Cohesion. Easy peasy.

That's a lovely setup you've got there. My compliments!

I meant "weird of FlickR not to automate that". But okay, more compliments to the photographer for doing the extra work to organize the photo albums the same way in two different views. grin

A couple asides:

If Joe isn't on TMP, pass on my compliments for his Russians. Those are nice, densely populated stands, very appropriately intimidating. :-)

Who made the brash French charge across the bridge into the Russian onslaught? That looks like excessive zeal or excessive liquor, hard to tell which at this distance.

That was Phil . . . the same Phil who, in the Flickr comments, said that his "suspicious" look was the result of being ordered to be aggressive against his natural inclinations.

Hard to tell close up, sometimes.

As always a great looking game!
