…TV Series Coming In 2019

"Most genre fans know that few recent science fiction films have enjoyed the enduring love and universal popularity of Galaxy Quest. After all, It manages to be a unique blend of action, and science fiction outer space adventure, combined with a heartwarming story about second chances and finding yourself and the courage to emerge victorious when faced with insurmountable odds, while also being one of the best examples of science fiction comedy ever created. The film's narrative is an equal opportunity mocker targeting the productions, the genre, the culture that surrounds it, and the fans that obsess on the TV shows and movies they love.

The movie was surprisingly brilliant with an excellent cast that was close to perfect that featured Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, Sam Rockwell, and Daryl Mitchell as the cast of a defunct television series which had the eponymous title Galaxy Quest. In 2013 the film was voted a better Star Trek movie than JJ Abrams' Star Trek: Into Darkness by fans when asked to rank their favorite movies based on the classic series, and story-wise I would have to agree. Enhance your calm, Dan. They can't ruin your nostalgia unless you let them. I can watch and enjoy the original Star Wars trilogy and the first two seasons of Star Trek without the slightest thought of the decades-long train wrecks which have followed, and having read The Number of the Beast does nothing to diminish my enjoyment of real (1970 and earlier) Heinlein.

Does it have to?

Why can't they redo a decent series, like UFO, or Space 1999, instead.

Galaxy Quest was a self contained work, and doesn't need a TV series.

I really feel the need to explore the motives of the bad guys in more detail over five seasons.
