Thoughts? I have an unused box of Perry plastic Continentals. Since they don't have lace I thought they might have potential for Loyalists ca. 1779-81 in the south. The wooden canteens are a drawback, but I could overlook that. Is there some other reason why they might not be appropriate? |

No reason why not that I can think of. Continentals without lace are my go-to Loyalists. But give them a dashing plumed hat, since they do have more style sense than a bunch of grubby Doodles. |

I'm using the Continental bodies with the small British round hats to make the 2 Light Infantry battalions in the South. Except for the Highlanders of course. |

Hi Bill – I've painted various Loyalist units using the Perry Continentals (and indeed the Perry British) and if it helps I listed what one can do on my blog a couple of years back: link The only change I'd make now is to do De Lancey's with green facings rather than blue – I think that's the latest thinking on what the uniform was most likely to be. The various units can be found on the Loyalists label: link Giles |

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will do them in red coats faced green as that appears to be a plausible uniform for at least a couple of loyalist units in the south from 1779-1781. Also Giles thanks for re-posting the link to your fine loyalists. |
