(first post was eaten by the bug) Hello all! Last Labor day weekend was Pacificon 2018. I was able to go all weekend and had a great time playing a lot of Age of Sail and other games. I tried to take lots of pictures… read all about it on the blog, why not? link Teaser pick of one of my ACW games I hosted.

Shoot, wish I'd known you were there. Or were you the guy who talked to me at the Clouds of Glory game? If so, pleased to meet you. I'm glad that no 1:1 scale people were hurt in the highway scares. -- Cheers, John |

(I ran In Clouds of Glory to almost no audience . . .it's an amazing air miniatures game, and even better, in fact much better with the new initiative rule the designer posted on BGG. I will continue to spread the gospel of ICOG in the Bay Area) (+ I ran a very elaborate board + RPG + LARP mixed media Star Trek event with my friend Kasi, which was a smash.) |

On Sunday, I ran a Traveller game in the miniatures room. The PCs were fighting monsters in an underground complex all day -- perfect day all around! I think I'll run a sequel to that game at Dundracon. I used Traveller SRD combat rules, which are just Mongoose Traveller rules condensed in one place with a focus on very small unit actions. The PCs had 8 mercenaries and two robots, and I ran a lot of monsters, including a giant purple worm that I bought at the flea market on Friday. Despite missing Saturday to attend a wedding, I had a great convention. |

Thanks everyone, I'm pleased you liked it. Sorry if I did not photo your game, it was more I was doing it when I thought of it and wasn't really on a mission to document the whole con. 😀 @cursd; yes that was me! I can't believe I forgot to mention that in the blog. I tried to look out for you later but didn't see you again. Guess that con is bigger than I thought. 😀 |
