Hi all!

We've played off the remaining part of our game and final AAR is now available on vellamike61.blogspot.com

Hope you have a good read :)

Great! I love games at this scale portraying entire battles

Agree 100%. Though I can understand why the smaller scales might not appeal to everyone I feel the sensation of playing out a battle is delivered much better with all the masses of troops on table.

Nicely depicted. And agree on portraying entire battles.
Thanks for sharing!

Great looking game and with 6mm in mass for AoE!
I am not familiar with this battle ( there were several some years apart IIRC 1805 and ?) with both being Austrian victory's in actual and in all the AAR of games, I have seen to date.
Therefore, being the scenario designer what do you see as the possible opportunity for the French to pull off a victory?
Would it be the just taking advantage of an Austrian blunder?

thanks
MG

First of all, thanks to all for your comments.

@marshalgreg, the other Caldiero was in 1796 and was a rare defeat for General Bonaparte himself. In the 1805 encounter Marshal Massena -probably spurred by the Emperor's victory at Austerlitz – bit more than he could chew and was pushed back as well though he claimed victory after Charles withdrew to protect Carinthia. The scenario we played is one of many here : link
Admittedly it is not an easy one for the French. My hunch is they would be better off massing their artillery someplace but it's anybody's guess really.
