My first reaction to the trailer is to pass. Does anyone know of any female fur trappers? Looks like the Old West as imagined by a PC history teacher. |

A quick Google search found this article: link It seems that women played a role in the fur trade (setting up camp, making mocassins, netting snowshoes, etc.) , but I didn't see mention of the lone adventurer/trapper (which is what I often imagine). There are sources at the end of the article linked above. I can't speak to their quality (I'm not familiar with this period), but it might be worth delving into. Cheers! |
