Hello D6, I can't direct you to a source for the purchase of the flags, but for what period of the war do you want the flags? The 19th Georgia initially used a First National Flag until it was replaced with an unmarked 2nd Bunting Pattern ANV Battleflag in mid-1862. This 19th Georgia flag is now part of the collection of the Museum of Southern History in Jacksonville FL. The 53rd Georgia carried a Magruder/Army of the Peninsula flag from early 1862 to possibly as late as the Battle of Sharpsburg. A remnant of this flag exists in a private collection. This flag was then replaced with an unmarked 2nd Bunting Pattern ANV Battleflag. The newly created 61st Alabama only arrived in Virginia in 1864 and most likely was issued an unmarked 3rd, or more likely, a 4th Bunting Pattern ANV Battleflag. |
