I keep wondering about the six figures in the shako. As soon as I saw they did not carry a carbine on a cross belt, I saw that conversion potential.

Immediate reaction was Netherlands Horse Artillery. I cannot resist a conversion and have always wanted to do mounted HA of any nation (far from easy). So, I thought, French Guard lancers' horses, a little work to create that characteristic back peak (whether right or wrong for 1815), the brass ornaments on the crossbelt front, the shoulder roll above all. Easy. They even have the waist belt over the jacket, as often shown (again I wonder if right for 1815, but looks great)

But there is always a snag. The large metal chin strap. Possibly could be disguised as facial hair? But the gauntlet gloves…………much filing to get the pointed cuffs needed. Weep, so close

Back to the drawing board. Maybe the new plastic chasseurs with Austrian plastic heads?
