Federation Year 81, 0305 standard time. Incoming message: Three hours ago the following images were received from a deep space Sentinel Y-21 observation drone. These images were taken by its last hyperspace-messenger pod just prior to its jump.

The images indicate what we have feared since the Federation was formed. The Sathar have returned and in greater numbers than ever before.

SIGINT leads us to believe this force is the vanguard of several distinct fleet formations marshalling near multiple jump points.

It is estimated that they will be ready within 26 standard days to make large scale jump operations.

Neat – where do you get Sathar ships these days? I had lots of fun with the RPG way back when.

Nice! We played Knight Hawks to death way back when. Really fun game.

All are 3D printed from Shapeways.com Full Federation ship list is there too.

The old metal models were…frankly…horrible. Heavy, high center of gravity and prone to lead rot.

Looking to tryout some 2d Sathar Wars Knight Hawk scenarios using the Red Alert game by Richard Borg at Hurricon in Orlando 27-28 SEP.

Never did the full campaign. Even when I seemed to have all the time in the world my gaming group could never get through Knight Hawk games that had more than a few ships each side.

We did try one with SF Nova vs a comparable Sathar fleet but it took too long for us.

Now that Red Alert is going to be published I can push around these guys and get a game done in an hour with fleets of 30-40 models per side for a 2 player game.

What's the source of the non-Sathar ship in the first pic?

Shapeways again. Specifically the Irrational Designs shop: link

His stuff is great. I also like the fact that the models are designed for gaming and have mounting holes on the bottom for the cheap black flight bases – like the ones I have.

@stumer – Yeah for some reason the Sathar were depicted as having red ships. Works for me. In the 80s I never blinked when the bad guys had red ships in the few TSR pictures of them. For some reason though in the Knight Hawks game they had tan counters for the space game.
