Just posting this as a heads up to anyone who may be about to build this kit or is purchasing a Primaris force for WH 40k.
GW has many, many kits where the design of the sprues, parts, and the instructions are simply a joy to build, top notch design in all respects.
However I can't say that the Redemptor Dreadnought is one of those kits.
It's got a BUNCH of steps where there is no solid "key" or position indicator where a part should be exactly glued. Several of the panels and components are simply "free-floating" placement. Yes, you can visually match it up to the instructions where they have to be placed. But you're still doing it by eye, there's a good deal of free space where you can glue it too far one way or the other.
Don't glue this model with super glue! You'll regret it. Use plastic cement so you have a chance to re-position things if necessary.
But there's two particular sections of the instructions I want to bring to your attention.
First one is "2a":
At the very top left corner, where you put that front armor piece in between the outer shell so to speak. I discovered that if you glue the two halves of the shell together first, you CANNOT fit the center armor piece in between without having to drastically stretch apart the outer shell halves. I recommend gluing that front armor piece to one of the shell halves first, THEN glue the other half of the shell in place.
The second section is "4b":
Again, upper left-hand corner. The step where you glue that central leg joint piece in between the two halves of the lower leg piece. Again, it's an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE trying to thread that piece down in between the two halves. There's a tiny square tab that's supposed to settle into a square hole at the bottom of the joint. But the problem is that it's a "blind assembly". As you put the piece down in, you CAN'T SEE the hole to match up the square tab! Worse, as you're trying to find the position, the piece is fighting against and bumping up against the outer leg assembly because there's absolutely no room. You have to wedge the piece down in and stretch open the outer pieces, and with plastic cement you start making a mess. It's ridiculous.
I recommend like with the other instructions issue, glue the central joint piece to one half of the outer leg half, THEN glue the other half around it.
Other than that, I've reached this point with no other major issues!
