I'm very interested in the start of the Conquest led by Yermak in the 1580's. My question is will any of the Old Glory figures in their Renaissance section fit this period, especially the Russians/Cossacks.TAG also has figures that might fit also.

Mick Yarrow Miniatures has an interesting range for the Conqest of Siberia.

Maybe in future you could mention the scale.

Marco56, it looks like you want 25mm figures, in that case the Old Glory and TAG Cossacks would work well. However Yermak himself wore armor (supposedly he drowned due to his armor), and in this painting not only Yermak (pointing) but one of the other Cossacks is wearing helmet and armor:

And if you check out the Osprey on Ivan the Terrible, Muscovite soldiers of that time could have a mix of armor types: mail/plate similar to what Ottomans or Persians wore, padded armor, or similar to what Western soldiers (Poles, Germans, etc.) wore. Although most Cossacks would have no armor, which is how the Old Glory and TAG figures appear. I would love to see a range specifically for the conquest of Siberia (including not only some Muscovite infantry in uniquely Russian style) but their opponents like Chukchi (in their whale bone armor), Buriats, etc. – the ones in the painting have almost an eskimo look too them. It is a fascinating period. Remember you will need boats too since that was an important method of travel in that area!

I just got that painting as I love it but but a smaller size.Yes I would love for somebody to do a range specifically for this period but even in Russia there's not much interest in doing it. corona66,sorry about that, but he is the only one that actually has a range for this period. As far as the clothing for the Russians/Cossacks I think each figure could be dressed differently as it is widely varied.

I bought the Foundry and OG Cossacks partly with the intention of gaming the later (17th century) stages of the Siberian conquest. There being, as mentioned, no tribal figures available in 28mm (Eureka does a few Inuit figures which are about as close as you'll get), for opposition I went with mounted and dismounted Tartars, which I had to buy from two different OG ranges to get them to match sartorially.

I should add that the OG Cossacks are from the Cossack Wars range. By combining them with those from the Eastern Renaissance range amazing variety can be achieved, but I just didn't need that many.

We may have a range coming in the time of Yermak. One can only hope. link

Siberia Miniatures in Russia are working on a Yermak range in 28mm. From the look of the first proto-types this is going to be an excellent range. link
