There was the War of 1812, the War of 1833, the First Ohio-Virginia War, the Three States' War, the First Black Insurrection, the Great War, the Second Black Insurrection, the Atlantic War, the Florida Intervention. Great views guys. But joking apart, if the U.S. had stayed part of the Empire, there may not have been a First or Second world war. After all, who would have dared take us on if the U.S. had still been part of the Empire. |
Winston Smith | 15 Sep 2018 2:12 a.m. PST |
The Great War was caused by "some damn fool thing in the Balkans, not worth the life of a single Pennsylvania Grenadier", to slightly paraphrase Bismarck. It would have started with or without American Union with the Mother Country. Or, who is to say that France would have been an ally? A superpower Britain may have found France seeking other allies, like the Prussia she never went to war with in 1870. |
