If so, what type of pilot? |
45thdiv | 27 Aug 2018 2:48 p.m. PST |
My wife and father in law are single engine pilots. She got her pilots license before she could drive. |

Yes. The Doc says my cancer (incurable) won't allow me to pilot anymore. |

I guess I should respond to this thread since the word "pilot" is part of my user-name. Former Lockheed C-141B Starlifter pilot. The 141's are all gone now; chopped up for scrap metal or sitting in the boneyard in Tucson. |

Just the small stuff. Light, ultralight and sailplane in times past. |

Started on my Private Pilot, ran out of money and time. Now that I'm one-eyed, I have given up the dream… |
COL Scott ret | 27 Aug 2018 9:59 p.m. PST |
No but I jumped out of planes, helicopters and balloons. Does that count for anything? |

Was a flying instructor with the Air Training Corps for 8 years teaching 16 year olds to fly. I blame my grey hair on that period, but I'm no longer nervous flying commercial. Commercial pilots have got to be better than the little darlings who tried to kill me on a weekly basis. |

Another seemingly random question! What's coming up next? Are you a dentist? Do you own any sheep? Have you ever been to Scunthorpe?…. |
martin goddard | 28 Aug 2018 4:59 a.m. PST |
Like the Scunthorpe one. I have never been but hear good things about it. My father once went there. His friend also visited Scunthorpe. |

The 141's are all gone now; chopped up for scrap metal or sitting in the boneyard in Tucson. I jumped out of some of those … long before they were scrapped. |

Legion 4, why would you jump out of a perfectly good airplane? :-) |
COL Scott ret | 28 Aug 2018 9:57 a.m. PST |
USAF no offense but no such thing as a "perfectly good airplane", especially those built by the lowest bidder. I have heard pilots say that every landing is really just a controlled crash, when I jump I take responsibility for my own landing. Not only that but jumping out of aircraft while in flight is just "plane fun". |

I was a private pilot, decades ago. Too expensive a hobby for a young man with a family – never picked it back up when I was able to afford it again. |
