Greetings all. I'm aware that there are a number of great Napi scenario books out there but I've yet to find one with the assault on the Grand/Great Redoubt at Borodino.

I'm wondering if someone knows of a book out there with this scenario that's made for 1 unit = battalion size games.

Thanks for any tips or suggestions. Cheers.

(PS, I have seen the General DE Brigade scenario for Shevardino and I've already picked up a copy.)

I have often wondered, as a sceptic, whether any wargame rules would allow a bunch of Saxon and Westphalian heavy cavalry, relatively unsupported, to actually capture the Grand Redoubt.

I am taking a huge risk here I know……..but I do not throw dice (and when I did…WWI trench warfare and WII Airborne or Amphibious assault 40 years ago…..I was always massacred)

I stumbled across this. No scenarios listed but it looks good and with that many scenarios it would seem the Grand Redoubt would be sure to be included.

Let me know if anyone has any personal experience with this book.

I haven't seen the book Kenshin's post points to, so I can't comment on it.

The Et Sans Resultat 1812 Book has several scenarios, including Shevardino and Borodino--their advantage being that they list the squadrons, battalions and batteries for each unit. You should be able to pull a Raevski Redoubt scenario out that without too much difficulty.

If you're interested in Shevardino, I've posted my research on the The Napoleonic Wargamer and Tabletop Commanders FB groups in their files section. You can use the OOBs with ESR's maps (ESR's OOB is good, as well)

Chris Leach has the Borodino assault in his scenario book for Shako. "Fields of Glory".

Woow! That Master of the World 1812 book looks really nice but $60 USD is a steep price. I will definitely keep that on the back burner though. Thnx.

Fields of Glory looks good too. Thanks Sir!

UK,

The Grand Redoubt scenario is in both the Deluxe and 2nd Edition rule books.
