Following on from looking at the Roman remains in the the fortress city of Deva Victrix, modern day Chester, I have posted about the Roman finds in the city held in the Grosvenor Museum.
The city became the home base for XX Valeria Victrix and is thought to have also accommodated II Adiutrix during Agricola's campaign into Wales.

Great virtual tour. I agree with you about the statue. Presumably done for dramatic effect by people who know little or nothing about the subject. |
