Hi all,

Title says it all (I think?)
I'm flagging up the 200+ Russian battalions at Leipzig, in 2mm nonetheless. I'm closing in on being done with this project, so I'm pretty excited. I also want to get it right the first time. I'm trying to make sure that all the regiments and battalions have the right flags, so that when grognards lean in over my battalion/squadron level Leipzig game, they'll see every regiments' standards exactly where they should be.

So, my research (online) indicates that I can use 1803/1807 pattern flags interchangeably, since the switch was not uniform, and both types would be common in 1813. According to warflag, each Russian regiment of 3 battalions should have 6 standards; one battalion per regiment will have a white standard (which can also be partially colored, under the 1803 regs) and a colored standard; the other two battalions will have two colored standards.

Going back to the question, the white standard should go on the right of the colored standard, correct?

Actually one behind another.
White flag on front rank and colored one on third rank.

: (

They look so good side by side!
But ok; I'm glad I asked. I'm cocking them both to create a sense of motion. It looks good actually…

For what it's worth, with my 15mm figures I put my Russian white flags to the right.

God bless,

Agreed with Shoboki.

Copied from: "Fig 22: Central part of battalion (the 2nd company) 1809-1819," Zhmodikovs, "Tactics of the Russian Army…" vol 2. Note: I corrected what I believe to be a typo in the diagram, where the second flag bearer is listed as a sergeant.
