I wonder if they were even thinking about it. But I bet if a poll was run on the Carlist Wars, it would have bombed too. Now look. The Perrys make what they want to play. Then, because it's the Perrys, it will sell. Field of Dreams stuff. If they wanted to play 1:300 Age of Sail, they would make the models. |

Cute survey, but I doubt the Perrys are even considering it. Miniature ships are a different sculpt from what they do anyway. Doubt they would do it. |

Ah, too late to vote. Cursd again. I will write in that I'd be happy to see the Perrys do 1/300th scale for the 17th century. The range of engagement is much closer than in later periods and boarding is more important, so the larger scale is easier to work with. The overgunned and heavily ornamented ships already look as if they were made by the Perrys or maybe Forge World. But I am someone who never aims to present the largest fleet battles at a 1:1 representation . . . |

Pluses of the scale: Beautiful models, lots available in the scale already. Downsides: Way to much painting for my tastes, storage is a problem, playing area is a problem. To scale, one would need 3000 feet of playing space and a probable second mortgage to re-fight Trafalgar. If I'm going to fight frigate to frigate engagements I'd much rather use a scale where boarding can be played visually. |
