Gretchen Carlson, a Former Fox News Babe and former Miss America, sued Fox News and Roger Ailes for millions for sexual harassment and bullying and "enforced secret arbitration".
Over the weekend, the current Miss America accused her of bullying and intimidation. This morning, 19 former Miss Americas called on her to resign. When the Harvey Weinstein #something scandal broke, a previously unknown to me star named Asia Argento was one of the first accusers.
Over the weekend, an underage boy (17 at the time) revealed that she had paid him $350,000 USD to hush him up over what he claimed was rape. I am not excusing Harvey or Roger. They are first class scum of the earth, and you can throw in Kevin Spacey while you're at it too.
I am just cynically amused. Isn't that the whole purpose of Utter Drivel? Cynical amusement?
I can't wait for more. Odds are that there will be more. |

LOL. It's always "political" for some people when it makes the celebrities they favor look bad for whatever reason. But oddly enough, it's not "political" when the opposite is true. :) The truth is that those same people will never understand that there are different levels of scum. Their scum-O-meter is broken or they have purposely altered theirs beyond recovery. Some individuals are scum, even if it's between consenting adults, when it's behind the back of people they should be faithful to. But the scum rating goes up exponentially when it involves abusing a position of authority (boss to employee/intern). And then it goes up exponentially – into infinity – when it involves abusing a minor/child or defending/covering up for those who do that. Dan |

In my opinion, on a wargaming site, "Utter Drivel", should have at least some tangential link to um, wargaming. Or at the very least be amusing in some light-hearted way. I like a laugh. Sexual harassment/molestation /rape? Not a subject I care to see on this site. I can go discuss that at numerous other places. Or even in the Blue Fez if I so desire. |

Their scum-O-meter is broken For some, Scum is simply binary: A person is scum, or they aren't. Others see scumminess as a spectrum, from "Not scummy at all", through "well, they have had some bad errors in judgement" to "Dwellers-under-rocks want nothing to do with them". |

LOL !!!! Yes, she blows the whistle on Harvey W. And justifiably so. But this whole thing about her at 37(?) bedding a 17 year old boy !  Then after finding out about he was under age, she and her boyfriend Anthony Bourdain paid him to keep quiet ! Now I can see that as he was under age. But I don't think many of us when we were 17 if a similar event occurred. [Hell I'd be happy if in occurred today at 61 with someone like her ! ] We'd certainly not complain about it.  But like many things it all comes down to he wanted some fast cash. And now get his name in the news ! And of course she should have known better … But as we know this sorted type of "affair" happens very often … You have to love the hypocrisy ! From all sides, arenas, fronts, etc., etc. ! |
