Painting Battle Honour's NKVD Command

We may be sending these WWII Russian figures off to Vancouver for painting, but they'll eventually reach Thailand - because that's where DJD Miniatures conducts operations...

A combination of forces you'd probably never use in a normal game. Artillery was used in the direct fire role only in special situations or when facing and enemy breakthrough. Much too valuable to risk in the front lines. Amazes me how some companies distort history just to sell minis. Why not include something useful like halftracks instead? Cheers!

I find the lack of any infantry rather laughable :)

This is intended to be a German "starter force" of a couple of platoons of tanks and a supporting arty battery – not a stand alone force by any means. The FOW system has artillery on the tabletop (to sell more models probably!) and not off table like most rules. Infantry is available separately. Their choices of what to put in their boxed sets are often questionable.

They must be doing something right, they're not only still in business but they're selling enough of them to make them in plastic…

Though not intended, the instances where artillery have been overrun and/or used in close range in WWII, are numerous.

Go to the conventions. The FoW tournaments have dwindled to non existant in some cases. So I guess they are not doing that much right. I knew of 4 stores that used to play fow every weekend. Now there are none. I have a hundred boxes of fow painted minis and dont know where I could find a game if I wanted to. Not sure I'd call that something right lol. Cheers!

Some do like their artillery in the form of models. I am one of those as I am a modeller first gamer second. I tend to use sub boards in the form of dioramas so they are not actually on the gaming board so to speak.
