I downloaded this yesterday: I commend Ivan for his dedication and hard work. Also, I love the spirit of the thing. However, as I feared, the appeal of a 'retro-clone' is entirely lost as the rules are slightly tweaked (for the better), the implied/setting is altered (into a less grim and more generic sci-fi) and the amazing RT art-work has been replaced by a few photos of games. What made RT so appealing was the mostly the insane universe and the amazing visual/artistic presentation (along with the style of book and its originality as understood by the author)… Still: the book/PDF is a complete sci-fi game and probably very fun, and an excellent starting point for many (of course, most those aware of its existence are hardly starters to the hobby…) I will certainly give it a spin, probably with some 15mm miniatures… |

I'll The at- some valid points. I agree regarding the presentation. It would have been fun to have a bunch of over the top artwork. As for the style of the game, I believe that the folks following along with the rules' development preferred the style of rules that evolved. Take this with a grain of salt, as I only picked up bits and pieces of info. |
