OK guys, I'm looking for a recommendation for a rules set for Post Apocalyptic gaming. My requirements are as follows: Must let me use Mecha/Walkers/Large power armor Must have mutants Must allow me to build my own units Must be at least kinda balanced for vastly different tech levels Should allow for units to take more than one hit Should have statistics for different tasks (strength, toughness, dexterity, tech, something…) Would be nice to have some sort of advancement mechanism Can use any dice (not just 6's) Does not HAVE to be a post apocalyptic rules themed setting, as long as it fits my requirements. I've checked out Scrappers and they don't seem to do any kind of vehicles, let alone walkers. aaaaannnnnndddd go! |

I'm waiting for the Fallout preorder to come. I'll let you know how many points it hits when I get it. |

Infinity meets most of those requirements. Rules are free to download. While you can't build your own units, there are enough different units in the game that it should be easy to find something close enough. I mean, werewolves are an actual unit type in the game! Core Rules: PDF link Advanced rules: PDF link A couple more rules to be released in the upcoming book: PDF link Unit profiles: PDF link All the rest of the downloadables are found here: link |

Rogue Stars from osprey seems to check all those, Though I can't say for certain stompy mech goodness abounds, But from what I've seen from the play throughs seems pretty good. There is another from osprey, but I can't recall it. There is potential warzone chronicles from Prodos, but it's pretty deadly for basic infantry and I'm not sure you can customize your own characters, but there is a lot more customization of equipment (and I think skills) than 40k, Warmahordes, star wars, and Infinity. |

Horizon wars by Robey Jenkins (?) Might be what you need. |

Warfare in the Age of Madness might fit the bill. |

I think Ramshackle Games "Nuclear Renaissance" might work. Here's a detailed description of it: link I understand the rules are now free for download, although the supplement costs £5.00 GBP. But I think it may have expanded gang, figure and vehicle building rules in it. link I have to admit I love the cheap and cheerful look of the Ramshackle ranges! I've got a few of them and find them quite unique. |

I think Ramshackle Games "Nuclear Renaissance" might work. Here's a detailed description of it:I understand the rules are now free for download I'll be damned if I can find any link on the site to download the rules… They're not in the webstore, not in the blog posts, not in the games section of the site. It's like they just up and removed it… |

I quickly looked for it too, and couldn't find it either. I only have the printed copy, otherwise I'd offer to email it to you. I think it might be fairly close to what you're looking for. Perhaps you could email Curtis when he returns from holidays on Sunday and ask him. Can't beat free for a price! |
