PLA filament and the plastic beads used for injection molding are going to have 25% tariffs levied upon them starting on the 23rd. PLA, ABS and PVC will all be affected. That means not only will the extrusion monofilamwnra be affected, but Reaper's Bones range, Plastruct/Evergreen and any plastic models made in the US. Of course, your sprinkler lines as well.

Well that's just great. It's not clear that this really means $5 USD more per spool, but it might. Should I buy a bunch now and save? Aggravating.

Fortunately in Europe we are not subject to such things, so Europe will move on apace with its machine development, while the US may slow down as 3D printing will be less attractive.

I think UshCha means that currently Europe isn't engaged in trade protectionism through raising tariffs. All countries apply tariffs to certain goods, usually dependent on reciprocal arrangements.

I'm not sure what you mean by "isn't engaged in trade protectionism". That's the only thing that tariffs do. And it's what the EU in writing says they are for:

What I mean is the EU is not putting an extra tariff on Filament from China.
