I know its been discussed before, but I'm specifically wondering what to do about burst circles. Currently I'm just converting inches to cm, partly to reduce the table size required for a larger game, so the smallest templates seem a bit fiddly! So keep them the same size or just ignore the 1/2" and 1" templates on the basis they probably don't have that much affect anyway? I'm also considering using the newer flamer template rather than the burst a relatively simple mod that doesn't seem too pout of place.

Use Laserburn.

Keep the measurements the same. Makes for a more dispersed look and makes heavy weapons scary

If you need to go to CM because you want to game in a smaller space, I would make any template smaller than one inch in diameter a 1" diameter circle. Anything smaller is too fiddly and so long as both sides are the same it should wash out.

IIRC, those were 1/2" and 1" radius templates, so 1" and 2" in diameter. But my bases for 15mm are ~20mm across, so even converted to cm the only way to get more than 1 model in those small blasts is to have them base-to-base.

This Quar's War does not include a measurement shift in the rules for playing with 15mm minis instead of 28mm. This makes the 5" template really scary in 15mm, as a single mortar shot could cover an entire squad.

If I were playing Rogue Trader in 15mm, I'd leave the ranges as-written. Makes the explosions a lot more intimidating.

One change you might consider is to give the flame weapons a fairly short range and a random number of hits. This is the 8e former-template-weapon rule.

The size of your templates should be in the same ratio of you changing the minimum distance between figures. So if you are keeping the minimum distance at 2", then you should not change the template sizes. If you shrink the minimum distance from 2" to 2cm, then you should change any radius from inch to cm.

I suppose the obvious thing is to play a couple test games! But I think its important to keep the ratio for distance change constant particularly with coherency and area of affect.
