Hi all: so I'm painting some Bren carriers for both NWE and Africa. I've got green and sand respectively for the exterior. other than leather for the two front seats, what did the rest of the interior look like. I can't find any good photos. thanks

Carriers I have seen were the same color inside and out, but, I have only seen 2.

thanks. where their wooden boards on the seats in the back?

Vigilant11 Aug 2018 8:56 a.m. PST

Frome restored versions I've seen there are no wooden boards. Canvass covered thin cushions were the best the crew could hope for. As said above they seem to be the outer colour, or just the green element if camouflaged.

Just had another look at my photos. The seats were metal and painted the same colour as the rest of the carrier. The driver and gunner had padded seats and seat backs. On the restored version I have detailed pictures of these are a darker green, almost bronze green, leather. No evidence of any form of cushioning for the guys in the back unless they could scrounge something themselves.

Wow Bobgnar. That price was a shock.

They weren't restored, but back in '80 a salvage yard in Colorado Springs, CO had a pair of Canadian Universals with V-8s for $800 USD apiece.

Pity I was so poor at the time.

Actually, that price seems pretty good for what you're getting.
