Any suitable, or nearly suitable, figures out there for the Pacific?

I'm thinking of building for mid-late '43 and the fighting on Treasury Island and Cape Gloucester for the classic combat Bulldozer attacks. Would any of the old soup-dish helmets still be mixed in that late?

The best option I've come up with so far is Pulp Figures early Marines in tropical kit, at least they have rolled up sleeves. But I'ld have to green putty the trouser legs to un-tuck them and do head swaps to add M1 pot helmets without camo covers.

Any other options, even if they take a little work? Or a little less work would be good too!

Here's a great photo from Tarawa in late '43 of the look I'm aiming for:

Here's one from Sept. '44 with some camo covers, but I would prefer to use plain helmets, even if I have to swap heads. I'll have some black soldiers to add in for use in '45 when there were integrated Seabee units in the Pacific.

Have you looked at the Battle Honors 28mm Marines. The command set I got has short sleeves, rolled up sleeves and un-tucked trousers. One guy even has a cigar.
Here's some pics from Gajo:

I bought a sprue of the Warlord Marines primarily for the rolled and sleeveless arms, so if I were you, I would get a box of those.

Great, thanks!

I had not seen the Battle Honours before.

For some reason I thought Warlord's were sleeves down. Good to know, those would be easy head swaps for plain M1 pots.

How well do the Battle Honours mix with Warlord?

Ah, good thing Gajo has some pictures.

Now I remember why I haven't seen the BH figures, they hate posting photos of their line!

Over the years I've sampled the various manufacturers of 28mm WW2 US Pacific. For USN Seabees I'd recommend Warlord, Brigade Games or Assault Group Marines before Battle Honors (despite the cost). A helmet swap for Pulp minis would also work – though none of them are armed with the M1 Garand. The old West Wind US Army 1944 are also wearing shirt sleeves and would work well….John

Are the West Wind their old small 25mm sculpts or the later 28mm ones?

I think I've looked at them before, but just double checked now: Brigade Games and Assault Group's Marines have helmet covers, and looks like most of West Wind's too.

Warlord's are feasible because it would be easy enough to swap in heads with plain US Army helmets, and I could probably scrounge those up from folks who are likely to have extras.
