Hey Guys, After a couple months for prep time, our club got its first 28mm ACW project up and running, and fought out yesterday. The guys were asked to paint up a few units, and to command these in the small actions we'll be having this year – the first skirmish happening between a couple of infantry brigades that clashed around 'Brung Run' Missouri (that is – bring your own troops and have some fun). Here's a few pictures from the battlin' -

That looks great. Who did the barn and pig pens? Matthew |

Hi Matthew, I don't know. I bought the buildings and a few animal pens at a local con from a gamer who was selling them, along with a set of terrific resin river/stream sections, one with a bridge crossing, and another with a clog of beaver dens in the stream, and with little beavers semi-submerged in the resin "water" – great stuff! Oh, all at a great price. The gentleman said they were made by a company on the East Coast that has gone out of business, who used "unemployed engineers" to make everything by hand. I actually had no intention of getting into 28mm ACW or 28mm AWI, as I already had collections for each in other scales, but I saw this terrain for sale, and well, you know how that story ended. :) I did craft the TB fur mat, the fences traded for from a buddy, and the trees attach to washers that have magnets glued to them that I glued to the underside of the mat – the trees therefore attach right through the fur. Btw, I'm working as we speak on two shorter "nap" fleece-style mats, because although I love this TB mat pictured here, individually-mounted figs tend to "rock & roll" on it, so doing up these new flatter mats to eliminate that issue (and get two tables/games running at the same time, since we're having a good response from the group for this 'Run What'cha Brung' project). Oh, I know who it was. Architect of War. I think I have that barn. I hope I have that barn. I need to get my self organized. Matthew |

Thanks Lost Wolf! Apparently the post-game feelings by a number of the players was it was just a bloody brawl, and I won't disagree. |

Nice looking and it seems to be fun. I've been looking for some small unit actions, this seems cool. |
