I have about run out of my Renaissance Ink thicker wood bases. These were nice, I bought a lot but they are closed up and out of business. So I need more bases for my Rev War and Crimean war figures. These were 6mm thick.

Does anyone recommend anyone out there who makes bases in this thickness? Enquiring minds need to know. Many thanks!

RI made bases in several thicknesses. To which are you referring? Perhaps you can provide an image? My company makes magnetic bases, but I am not sure bases on your description if they are of a similar depth.

I clicked on your name and saw a pic of your Crimean War figures. I can see the bases in the background and unfortunately, those are far thicker than what we manufacture.

ACWBill, thank you for looking. I appreciate you taking the time.

No worries at all. I recall I have some 40 x 40mm bases of those type I bought back about 10 years ago and never used. Would these help you? If so, when I return from my current business trip, I will count them and send you an email. I am:

What about MDF? Not sure of the thickness -- will need to measure it this evening. Easy to cut, easy to paint, no warpage. Cheers!

1/4" thick balsa will match almost perfectly (6.35mm).

Pairs of 3mm MDF bases?

Jay Wirth, the man who used to run Renaissance Ink still sells the non-magnetic masonite bases on E-BAY. I have bought from him on several occasions without any problems. The masonite bases are 1/8 inch (6mm) thick.
Hope this helps,

1/8 inch is 3mm, not 6mm

Advocate may have the best solution if you cannot find 6mm bases.

I used to buy RI 3mm hardboard bases with magnetic bottoms all the time; I buy B Company Bases now because they are pretty much the exact same thing.

I don't know if B Company bases can be 6mm thick, but they do custom orders, so it's worth asking.

Ah, nevermind. I didn't realize ACWBill was the owner of Cracker Line Minis, and already answered this question.

Find somebody who has a tablesaw and buy a sheet of 1/4" luan ply, you could make a substantial number of bases out of a 4x4 sheet.

I prefer thinner bases generally

Very late reply, but we can cut 6mm thick bases.
