58% said they'd rather see a poll results board they could turn off… 23% said they have no interest in polls at all 37% have no idea what a poll is… |

If they are annoying, just don't open the link. Jim |

I think they´re a good thing actually. It makes it much easier to follow the poll to its conclusion. |

And it creates traffic, and therevy page views, and this revenue for TMP |

I find them an equal mix of inane and laughable for example theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=486296 42% of you say you own Fire and Fury28% of you say you don't own the rules
Does that mean 30% don't know if they own F&F Family Fortunes / Family Feuds is far more entertaining We asked Name your favourite general beginning with Z 100% said Xenophon Extra Crispy +1 |

I think they are great. The perfect opportunity to argue the same points for a third time :) |

Complete and utter waste of time and space. I turned off the pools, and now I have the poll results inflicted on me. It's easy to say 'don't look', but the constant stream of results just pushes more worthy posts down the mainpage and off the bottom too soon. Please open a poll results board for those who want to see them, and so I can turn it off. It appears recently that about one quarter to one fifth of all posts are from the editor, either poll results, or attempts to induce responses to odd questions. |

They are a bit off-topic in WiG, especially since there is a board focused on polls. Adding the results to the end of the suggestion thread would keep it all in one place and still allow people to hash out the same issues again. And it would bump the thread to the top, generating the requisite visibility. |

I think they are great. The perfect opportunity to argue the same points for a third time :) Only 3? Someone starts a topic on how The Ladies felt about some of the more grotesque beards worn by Civil War officers. That gives someone (like me) the idea to start a Poll Suggestion "Which Civil War General had the silliest beard?" Some time later, Dear Editor starts a Poll on the topic. The Poll has a comments section along the lines of "Why wasn't Fitz John Porter one of the choices?" Finally, Isaiah Brock is announced as the winner. Once again, "Why no Beauregard?" That's at least 4 times beards are discussed. And guess what. None of them bother me. I would have voted for Ben Butler. It's a better topic than "friction" or how fast you should drive down the road under fire in a rain storm on Thursday. |

What a silly thing to say. One subject if key to military simulation – the other is beards. |

I´ve made a poll suggestion about asking Bill to move announcements about poll results to the suggestion board. Ironically, if reading about polls annoys you, you can voice your displeasure by participating in the poll process. Here´s a link to the suggestion: TMP link |
