We played tested my Second Battle of Trenton Scenario last Saturday. It clearly needs a lot of work but that is what playtesting is for.

I wanted to have my cake and eat it too. What I mean by that, is I wanted to represent the delaying action by Hand and Scott and at the same time have the fighting in the town and the British attempt to cross Assunpink Creek represented. Took a lot of photos and took some notes.

I will review all the information and suggestions from my fellow club members. I thought I would go ahead and share the photographs. It is far from perfect and is very much a work in progress. The rules we used are our own club rules "Sons of Liberty." Here is the Flickr link.

I recommend viewing the photos in slide show mode. There are two pages of photos, so don't forget to click on the number two at the bottom.

Well done! Very nice.

Very nice! Looks cold.

FlyXwire25 Jul 2018 5:33 p.m. PST

That is cool! ;)
I like the way you outlined your winter roads (with string/yarn borders)? The 3D affect of the road edging with the dirty scatter works so well.
Excellent winter battle mat Rallynow!

I will steal your ideas without any shame.
It's on my to-do list. grin

Please do. I am happy to share.

Excellent work and game. I am doing Trenton in 28mm eventually also. Where did you get all those great buildings, are they by the same manufacturer?

dantheman26 Jul 2018 5:58 a.m. PST

Where did you get the houses. Finding good colonial looking houses is a challenge.

historygamer26 Jul 2018 7:07 a.m. PST

Very nice looking game.

Rogues126 Jul 2018 7:42 a.m. PST

Beautiful looking game. I like the concept of fighting the battle in phases with the fighting retreat and then the bridge engagement. Looks fascinating.

Yes! We would like to know.

One of the best tables I have seen. Brilliant scenario. This is why we game with miniatures rather then paper counters. Thank you for posting.

All is explained in the description of my Trenton game.

I know that I'm a tech incompetent, but when I click your link I go to Flickr and can see the pictures, but I can't figure out where your description of the battle is in this format. I clicked on a couple of pix to see if there was a commentary about the picture, but no go for that idea.

I assume that there must be some way of accessing any text that accompanies your pictures so could you tell your TMP audience how to do this please?

Also, can't you just discuss the buildings here on this thread rather than being so mysterious about it?

I apologize if I come across as being a crotchety old coot ( well, I'm at least two of the three) but it is merely born out of frustration with dealing with the format and not being able to find the information.

Your table scenario is really beautiful and well crafted and I shall be exploring your other AWI albums.

DAF,

I must apologize. I haven't added that yet I will do so today and post here to let you know.

Old Contemptibles28 Jul 2018 5:25 p.m. PST

Okay DAF and everyone else, I have added commentary to most of the photos. Not all of them have it. But most of them do. The description and commentary is located just below the photo. You cannot see it in photo stream mode. You have to double click on the photo and then scroll just below the photo. I recommend reading them in order rather than jumping around.

How about the Highlanders in kilts. They are a tuff lot.

FixedDice24 Oct 2018 3:57 p.m. PST

Beautiful game…. the pics are awesome. Thanks for sharing. I recognize half of the buildings, JR miniatures & I think hovels…can you title some of the others. They really make for a 18th century town.

Baranovich26 Oct 2018 9:09 a.m. PST

Absolutely amazing table!!

Thanks for the kind words. Go back to the album and click on a photo and scroll down below. There you will find my notes on the game and terrain. I think the information you're looking for is below one of the first three photos.
