Beautiful looking game. I have played a couple Battlegroup games at about the level your did. I like the rules, but have my doubts about expanding the amount of forces on the table given the detail of the rules. Watch what happens when you add artillery, mortars and air attacks. I also have my doubts about limiting tank ammunition. In reality, 3 Stugs should have made mince meat of a couple Stuarts and a Scout Car. That the German battle rate was only 1 point above the Americans makes me wonder about how the designers came up with the numbers for such. |

Well adding artillery makes no difference to the game… like all games the more you play it the faster you get. But we happily play up to 750 points in an evening. Tank ammo limits are there to make players think and represent the shots that count… Why shouldn't the German BR be only one more than the US? Depends what the players picked… After six years, we're quite happy with how we come up with the ratings. Game looks ace Kopp!

Thanks, enjoy your reports. Not a criticism, just a suggestion. Do a 200-250 point game with just infantry. Maybe attacker 250 and defender 150 + 25-50 pts worth of defenses. This would test the basic rules well and not push time limits. |
