I just began collecting Bolt Action USMC infantry. I sprayed the figures Army Painter Army Green. I need to figure the other colors of the figure (no big deal for me), but how should I paint/decorate the bases? Sand with some greenery? After the beach, what would the ground be like? I do not intend to turn each base into a diorama, but just gluing some flocking on it does not seem right. Thanks for any help you can offer. |

First are you doing Guadalcanal or later? Jungle for the 'canal, volcanic sand for Iwo/Okinawa, Mariana Islands more temperate. |

Well the USMC went through a few uniform changes during the war. The USMC P41 HBT , USMC 1942 P42 Camouflage uniform and the USMC P44 1944 HBT. |

Needs to be pretty generic for the bases. I don't expect them to fit all possibilities but if I want to do a general base idea, what do I do? A little sand and a little dirt on each base with a little greenery on the dirt portion? Don't overthink it, please. I am not making Bolt Action my life's work. Thanks! |
