A heads-up to all dice-throwing sailors -

I will be running several Napoleonic Age of Sail games at the upcoming Southern Front wargame convention in Raleigh NC, 21-23 September 2018.

Friday, 21 Sep
"Saumarez in the Gut of Gibraltar – 1801"
A Franco-Spanish squadron carrying supplies to Napoleon in Egypt and a British squadron under Admiral Saumarez stumble into one another in the waning hours of darkness.

Saturday, 22 Sep
"Tortola – 1806"
Admiral Cochrane's modest convoy escort detachment must fight off a strong French raiding squadron off the Caribbean island of Tortola.

Sunday, 23 Sep
"Lissa – 1811"
Captain Paul Hoste and his small squadron of veteran British frigates are opposed by a powerful Franco-Venetian frigate flotilla off the Adriatic island of Lissa.

All 1:1200 scale games using my "Steer to Glory" rules. Easy to learn; fun to master.

All salty fellows, old and young, welcomed.

Byron,
I played your game a couple of times at NJCon and enjoyed it.

I know you were still tinkering with the rules back then, and weren't ready to publish. Do you now have plans to make the rules publicly available?

Thanks

John H.

Love the old fighting sail games. Sounds like a lot of fun. Please post pics afterwards!

I used to play Craig Taylor's Ship of the Line rules when I was in the military and Wooden Ships before that. Some of the computer games were fun too but they lacked the detail of the miniature rules as far as hit location and so on.

Nothing like pushing the lead around on the mats.

Hi John – Thanks for your kind words about my "Steer to Glory" rules.

Kincaid and I always had a blast at NJCon – great show and great people. Sadly, after my re-location from MA to SC, it's just a "Bridge Too Far" for me to get to.

I made a solemn promise to Kermit before he passed away earlier this year that I would publish these rules.

Stay tuned.
