I'd imagine that everything you can achieve with oils you can , way more easily, achieve with acrylics

Some transparency in layers are superior with oils, but in general acrylics do it as well. Blending with oils is a tad easier as the dry time is not so fast. I also just love the smell of linseed oil.

But with wet palette (and/or drying retarder) you get more working time with acrylics, right?

No, oils still dry much slower than acrylics.
