This piece is a WIP. I'm not sure if I consider it finished yet. I may add some small trees and some other things to it before I consider it finished. It also needs some tidying up in spots. I used the thicket, that I wrote the tutorial about. Well, this is how you can actually use it on a terrain piece. Everything here was scratchbuilt by me, except the Indians. I seem to recall that Marco painted and based the Indians. I was going to re-base them, when I got around to it. Anyway, some WIP pix with and without figures.
NO INDIANS

Looks darn good to me! As your stuff always does… :) The only negative thing I can think of is that the three firs are rather much aligned. And at quite even intervals too. But stunningly awesome as always. Looking forward to seeing a AAR or at least some pictures of a (full) table that you play. |

Totally superb and will add a zing to any game. Also greatly appreciated your clear and very detailed tutorials. |

Stunning! Amazing work. An extremely impressive terrain piece. Those thickets really set it off. |

Beautiful, but I wonder: does the static grass interfere with the mini's standing on it? If they are metal, they may have enough weight to not be tipped over by the grass, but I wonder about plastic/resin mini's ability to stand on it. It looks gorgeous, but I've steered clear of static grass for feat it would tip my mini's over, especially on a slope. The majority of my figures are some sort of plastic, rather than metal. Cheers! |

"The only negative thing I can think of is that the three firs are rather much aligned. And at quite even intervals too." As I said in the narrative, this is a WIP. I'm considering adding some smaller trees. You also have to make some accommodation for paths for figures to cross. Placing trees too close together will not allow figure movement. I'm still undecided whether to just leave it alone, or to add some other small details. |

The way I handle the problem of having room for figures is to have general overlays used for rough and as forests if you place separate smaller three bases on top. This way, these smaller 2-3 tree bases can easily be moved about as to make room for any kind of figures and formations. Also you can basically do full retard on these and keep on adding so much detail that it becomes impractical for gaming purposes. You just now when it is impractical and where to stop.
