link Evening everyone, A quick post showing the second addition to my early Italian Wars collection. A couple of three weeks ago I aired a pike block in the colours of the Swiss Canton of Lucerne, here are some similarly dressed crossbow types to go with. 28mm Perry Miniatures again, a mix of the plastic and metal ranges. More pics, base size etc on blog post. Next up for this project, some Gendarme. Regards Ken The Yarkshire Gamer |

They look very good! What rules are being used with them? |

Undecided as yet Gamespoet, I am a bit of a rebel when it comes to rule sets, I tend to build, base and collect an Army or Armies with what I like the look of. Then adapt a set of rules around my basing or write my own. At present I plan to modernise the Gush Renaissance Rules, nothing else has taken my fancy. |

Well painted and based gaming miniatures. Will you use pavises, too? I look forward to more updates as your army grows. Discuss some of the rule updates, as well, such as command, movement, combat mechanisms, etc. as you go along. Thanks for sharing. |

Cheers Condotta, the plan with Pavises is to have a seperate thin base that will be placed in front of the crossbow base when fighting in order, Pavises removed when in skirmish. Similar idea for Shotte just not sure what will go on the thin base for those. Regards Ken The Yarkshire Gamer |

I started with Gush, love the rules dearly- except the qr sheet text was very small. I have work on Italian wars using Might of Arms. I've tried to adapt Gush to armies using stands – gush has a counting hits and removing casually system. I'm currently working on a MoA/Gush – using a system of orders and the turn system from gush, but the body of rules from MoA. The problem with generic rules, they include elephants or other factors that may not apply, making the need for small fonts. |

Sillypoint, thats the kind of thing I will be looking at, I already have some good embryonic ideas but haven't started writing down, testing, etc until I have enough figures to game with. Agree totally with your generic rules, thoughts. Regards Ken The Yarkshire Gamer |
