Can someone tell me where I can get pictures of the Portuguese army of the War of Spanish Succession? Thank you in advance! Julian |

Very difficult to find any, most of the records in the archives were destroyed in the earthquake and following tidal wave in 1755. I do have something in my game room library. I think there is a Spanish/Portuguese pamphlet by Pat Condry. I can look for them and send you what sources I have tomorrow as I am not at home at this time. Since you are in Spain you can see if the Army Museum in Lisbon can be of any help. They used to have a postcard set of uniforms, but if my recollection is any good I believe the only uniform for that period is a grenadier. |

Marlborough's Other Army by Nick Dorrell has some detail on the Portuguese uniforms, but pictures, no. Steven Balagan has a synopsis of the Condray book here: link |
