As part of my Peninsular War project, I played Vimeiro using 6mm Baccus figures. An AAR is on my blog.

Nice AAR – and I have to agree, tough for the French to win

Vemeiro is a good game for a randomized and hidden OoB with more or less participants in each army. Add some good hidden units for the approach and you can recreate the tensions of Fog of War that both sides had to address historically. Being a small battle, even the possibility of a missing or extra battalion or two can have strong effects.

My games of vemeiro have been pretty successful with even historical OOB as long as neither side knows for sure what forces the other has . Is that feint on ventosa really the main thrust? Does he have any reserves left? This is one of my favorite little battles. The high ground for observation or masking moves is very very important.
