I have a 12 hour layover in Houston. Are there any wargames shops closer to the airport, or that I could get to on public transport?

Which airport? Intercontinental or Hobby* airport?

Dan
* It's the name. It's not a 28mm or 15mm "hobby" version of a real one. :)

Ettin Hobbies is a short ride from IAH (Bush Intercontinental) ettingames.com

They have a large boardgame section to borrow and play in the store.

They have a good selection of boardgames, fantasy and science fiction stuff. For historical – mostly Bolt Action and Black Powder when I was there last

Worth a visit

In the same general area there is a large Hobby/Craft store called Hobby Lobby hobbylobby.com

Also worth a visit if you enjoy large craft stores – carry everything from paint to trains and plastic models along with other craft items – A good general craft store – open everyday except Sundays

Public transportation in Houston? ROFL

You'll have to take a taxi or Uber

I don't know about the Hobby Airport area. There is a Swords and Superheroes store in Kingwood, which about 15 miles from Bush Airport. As mentioned above, public transportation in Houston is centered around getting people from outlying areas to downtown; not really an option for local travel up near Kingwood.

If your layover is at Hobby, Nan's Books and Comics Too nansgames.com and Third Planet third-planet.com are not too far away on Southwest Freeway.
