Gringos40's latest work in progress on the Tonkin Navy in 28mm. The various boats are designed for 1885, but they would fit most periods from 1500 onwards I thought this merited a new topic. See all the earlier releases here; TMP link This Chinese junk is over 16inches long and took over 2.5Kgs of resin. It will be supplied with wooden masts, winches and all the various cannon. The masts are then seen added on and these may yet be produced commercially. I will freely admit I thought the sails had been put on back to front (ie behind the mast), but reading up on "junk rig" soon put me right
Finally is a model of a Vietnamese/Chinese sampan with a removable gun platform. That little beauty could fit in the Mekong Delta to this day I imagine. Ged tells me all work is courtesy of Domino Studios
