Thanks so much Doug. Baby steps, for now. I still need to do a lot of sanding, but I wanted to already define ahead of time the limits for where the hull contours would be. And, once I started the sanding, it would have been necessary for the top to stay in place, which is why I added the magnets now instead of waiting until later. Dan |

It looks like she's shaping up nicely.
Good idea with the granny grating, reminds me of something Tholian, perhaps they got some of their tech from them. Any thoughts on what you'll name her? |

Gokiburi: "Any thoughts on what you'll name her?" Wow, I hadn't even thought about that. Good point. Hmm, my wife was asking me what the background for the ship was and this is what I came up with: When young Queens mature they are exiled from the main colony ship/planet and, taking a few workers and warriors with them, they set off for a suitable place to start their very own colony. So seeing as how all these voyages are basically one-way trips, they will defend to the last their vessel and their Queen and eggs. It is their only shot at living. So perhaps a name that means "Exile", followed by a number? Thoughts? Dan |
