Tis the "Summer of Scenery!" My pile of unpainted lead is (by most standards) very small. But my unpainted or unassembled terrain needs attention. So 2018 will be the Summer of Scenery. I'll be painting, gluing and finishing the piles of 15mm and 6mm terrain, buildings and scenic bits. Houses, office blocks, lamp posts, fences, trees, hedges, bridges, roads, etc. etc. etc. Here is day one: 15mm fences, bridges and lamp posts from 4Ground. 6mm emplacements from my very own Simply 6 line. A 15mm house from PastCraft nearly done. Suppression markers for Fistful of TOWs and some 30mm "hasty works" markers from Leven Miniatures.

Excellent! An example to us all.

I love work. I can sit and watch it for hours

You never regret painting terrain

I never regret painting anything – I like painting for its own sake. I keep painting miniatures even though I have too many as it is.

6mm Emplacements, each about 2" across:

15mm Fences again from 4Ground Terrain. Each set covers 1.5m and I assembled 3 sets…some day I'll paint them gray and flock the bases but for now they will serve…

The focus right now is on low-hanging fruit, so to speak, and to just get all my laser cut terrain assembled. Then it's on to the unpainted resin etc.

And for this evening, a few SciFi buildings in 15mm again from 4Ground:

Not scenics really, but a few additions to my Soviet motor pool. Free minis from my friend Dave. Wretched castings, but you only notice that when you are painting them. Before and after photos.

Impressive renovation/upgrade job, and nice work terrain-ing the bases!

And some generic "dug in" markers for my 6mm games. The white base is the size of a small "Flames of War" base which a lot of my SciFi is mounted on.

The "Summer of Scenics" continues. This evening I did more cut and paste and assembled another 4 feet of modern/SciFi fencing, and another building for my SciFi village. All by 4Ground laser cut terrain. Nice stuff.

More 4Ground Terrain: sheds/lean-tos.

They have an open back so I printed some paper backings to use them as stand alone bits.

Color test on the wall sections. Light brown with a heavy taupe dry brush and light gray highlight. I'm pleased with the color and once all the pieces are finished they'll look even better when completed with hitches, troughs, etc.
