Just finished watching Lives of a Bengal Lancer, and now The Drum is beginning. Since I just started back up painting my NWF miniatures, this is putting me in quite a mood. |

Watched "The Drum" again myself last night, and highly recommend it to NW Frontier fans. Even though set in the 1930's, with the weapons of that period, the story line and action scenes are still relevant and exciting. But perhaps best of all, all the exterior sequences were actually filmed in Chitral--and in Technicolor! The crags, valleys, and snow capped mountains--and total absence of anything that looks like a flat table top--should be both a resource and inspiration to design suitable analogs. Making table top terrain that really favors the tactics of the Tribesmen allows for more challenging--and beautiful--games. And watch for the Screw Guns coming into action! TVAG |

Bengal Lancers is also inter-war. There is one scene here native is shooting a Lewis gun at Cooper or Tone. |
