We played a DBA weekend campaign in the times of Charles the Bold using 28mm models. You can find a long report (sorry, in german) here: link But maybe someones interested in the pictures.

That is a very impressive campaign set up. Well done and I particularly like the map, counters and destroyed (pillaged) counters. Do actual historical events happen at their proper time or are they card influenced? Cheers, Robert |

Thanks for your nice words, Robert. We use event cards. They give you a simple option to include time specific events. we had generic events, like the plague for example. We had some events for special functions, like the pope. But most events go to the players, who are losing, to give them some boost. That are events like traitor (a city opens its gates), additional mercenarys etc. It is important to tie the campaign, events and the DBA battles strongly together. So we had the rule, that "killed" knights could be taken captive. To get your knights free to fight other battles, you had to pay ransom or make a deal. And there was one event, that a captive knight could escape. |

We use a similar system of Captures and Kills for Knights in the campaign system from Knights & Knaves. Borrow a bit from HOTT rules. Beautiful figures by the way. Thomas J. Thomas Fame & Glory Games |
