If I wanted to play Gettysburg on my 4 x 4 foot kitchen table in 6mm or 15mm which set of rules would you suggest? Thanks! |

You can do portions of the battle with any rules. If you want to do larger segments Bloody Big Battles with 6mm would be a good option. I'm a Fire & Fury guy but you could only do parts with those rules. |

Volley and Bayonet at half scale would probably work. |

The Volley and Bayonet scenario in the GDW book on ACW battles uses a 9 foot by 6 foot table. At half scale this becomes 4 1/2 feet by 3 feet. You could shave the half foot off the southern end of the V&B scenario map without impacting the game. In half scale a brigade stand is 1 1/2 inches square. I think 6 mm figures would be best. |

Or try it in 10mm. Look at Cracker Line miniatures and GHQ. Both are nice ranges for ACW. |

An easy conversion for Volley & Bayonet would be to use centimeters rather than inches. No fiddly halving everything, and brigades go on a 3cm square base. |

You could do it using Altar of Freedom if you used a centimeter scale as well. |
