My latest offering is a battalion of Nassau infantry. These are Victrix, with Perry chasseur a cheval heads used for the grenadiers.

Very Cool!
Well Done Winser54!

Don't also have a 15mm collection and ….this unit in that scale?

Matsukaze03 Jul 2018 7:23 a.m. PST

Which army of Victrix were used for the body? French infantry?

Garde de Paris03 Jul 2018 7:59 a.m. PST

Before you go on and do the others at the battalion of Neufchatel, in yellow/buff faced scarlet, that unit had a short-tailed coat closed almost to the waist, showing a vest underneath. These French have cutaway coats, long-tailed.

Also the Nassaus had single-breasted short-tailed coats, not the French long-tailed cutaways.

They are your troops, and well done, so use them and have fun. At 81, and having enjoyed reading about this period and studying the uniforms, I hate to see us simply ignore fact without comment.

I think they look great.

In respect to uniform accuracy and GdeP's comments. Does it really matter? I think the OP was showing off his newly painted unit, he was not asking advice about the uniform of the 1st Nassau.

Over the years I have got excellent advice from GdeP in respect to any uniform questions I have asked. I have appreciated it enormously.

Here though it was not sought, so maybe should not be offered.

I look forward to seeing the Neuchatel!

A considerate response to a vexing issue: the degree of accuracy which might be offered regarding our beloved Napoleonic Uniforms, to which we all give some measure of allegiance.

Easy when advice is sought but much much harder when unsolicited. I guess that is your point.

No doubt (as you acknowledge) GdeP's response was well-intentioned. It would have to be the Ugly Napoleonic Perfectionist that made you write it in the first place.

Well I was really impressed by the modelling and then painting and photography. Very clever work.

Personally I would value the feedback from G de P and not be the least bit offended. Please tell me when I go wrong in any posting. There is a place for the experts surely.
