Of more interest to me is – how are these guys managing to avoid GW's C&D letters – basically, they are making lookalikes for what I understood to be GW ranges. Cool if they can get away with it, but colour me surprised |

I still find it a bit daft how it's somehow mature and adult to celebrate the death, evisceration and maiming of hundreds of thousands of people in simulation and call it things like honoring history and good fun… but out pops a nipple, and THEN somehow we're problem children. Obviously, I'm here and a regular on the page, so I'm fine with either. Even though I can enjoy some Grimdark myself, I somehow find it more obscene to contemplate that humanity might end up that way than to consider that it might become more lax about public display of nudity. But hey, I'm just a man still playing with Toy Soldiers and coming daily to a site dedicated to such things. Must be that I'm not a good judge of maturity, eh what? |

Yes, by all means use the silly rebuttal of the horrors of war as a legitimate defense of misogyny. It's also daft to equate playing a wargame as a celebration of the horrors of war. I could not care less if there is a separate page for this nonsense. It's the equivalent of having a top shelf, or a porn theater. These pages are open to any visitor. I would hate to think that a female family member/friend would visit TMP, see this, and then wonder what kind of creeps are part of the wargaming hobby. These representations make us ALL look like a bunch of sexist troglodytes. The miniatures of this ilk are immature titillation, and each of you know it. You just want to hide behind smokescreens and false arguments. There is absolutely no reason that these figures are portrayed in this manner, given that their depiction would be ridiculous on an actual battlefield, other than to be another version of pornography. If you can show me a real combat soldier wearing stripper boots on the battlefield, I'll relent. Fortunately there are some manufacturers who can produce female figures that are realistic. Now we all just need to wait patiently for the next stupid argument to be trotted out; that these are works of art, equivalent to Manet, Cranach, or Rubens. |
