59% of you disdain logistical minis… TMP link

The question should differentiate by period and scale. If you're fighting Waterloo no one cares about the supply wagons. If you're playing the peninsula a raid on the supplies is just the ticket.

I care about it…a lot. Granted, more often in operational games then tactical miniatures, but Napoleonic artillery without limits on ammunition is well out of order, IMHO.

If you query those disdainful of logistics, you'll probably find a large parallel with those who hate limits on command control too. At least that has been my experience.

To each his own, but a lot of gamers out there think this stuff is not very fun. I wonder why they bother to play anything remotely historical or a simulation. To me, dealing with logistics and friction in command are the essence of game play: he who manages his assets the best in the chaos of combat usually wins…and gives a bit of luck to those who can't manage such things well to rationalize their losing the game.

You can take logistics into account without having to put a model of them on the table.

In reality, painting field kitchens isn't as fun as painting tanks or war elephants.

I'm not sure how you can equate not having the minis, with having a disdain for them.

That's just the subset that answers polls. I don't see them on my page, so I never answer them.
