Does anyone have recommendations for a campaign game system for coast craft games? Failing that could anyone recommend a set of rules that might have a scenerio generator? Thanks |

Try looking at free rules Coastal Command: link Also check out the Yahoo group "narrowseas" as they had a quick mission generator in the files section. What rules do you plan on using? Hope this helps. MD |

I'd like to join in with "Oldgamer" plea in looking for a scenario generator. I've wanted to start a campaign at my local game store with Coastal Actions in the Mediterranean. I have some books on WW2 Coastal operations in the Med. and Adriatic, have gotten ideas from there. I have the rules "Flaklighter" by David Gregory, purchsed them from The Last Square. The rules are very good, simple. I have 1/600 scale S-bootes and MGBs, plus Flaklighters and a Freighter from Davco but haven't been able to play much. There are some very good books on the MGB Dogboats used by the Brits. One is called MGB 658, by Leonard Reynolds. If you are looking to game that era and that area, those are good places to turn. Keep me posted |

JOE, Thanks for the list—here are my coastal books: "Night Action" by P.Dickens "Battle of the Torpedo Boats" by Brian Cooper "Hold the Narrow Seas" by Peter Smith "Flag 4" by Dudley Pope Rules I use are mainly "Action Stations" but also like "Flaklighter";the Clash of Arms scenario booklet "Mighty Midgets" is easily adaptable to whatever rules you use. Hello MD; Here's my list. "Motor Gunboat 658" The Small Boat War in the Mediterranean by L.C. Reynolds- Cassell Military Paperbacks "Dog Boats at War" Royal Navy D Class MTBs and MGBs 1939-1945 by L.C. Reynolds- Sutton Publishing "S-Boote" German E-Boats in action by Jean-Phillippe Dallies-Labourdette Histoire & Collections Osprey- New Vanguard Series- "British Motor Torpedo Boats 1939-1945" and "German E-boats 1939-1945" "Schnellboot in action" – Warships Number 18 by Squadron Publications. The first book is a great First Person account in my opinion. Really cover the battles in the Med and Adriatic. Once I read this book, I was hooked on Coastal Actions. I had picked it up at a Barnes and Nobel somewhere's during my travels along the east coast US. The other two came from Amazon.com The S-Boote book gives a ton of detail on the German boats, it's a big hardcover book. Hope this helps. Joe |

Just thougth I should report back. Using the Coastal command rules, both the campaign and tactical, we have now done 2 evenings worth of a little campaign. The campaign rules work pretty good to facilitate quick start up even when your late to the club. The tactical rules are simple and quick, but the group has some disatisfaction with them so we will be looking at other sets. Since I'm acting as a independent ref, I'm going to be providing a few more alternatives on scenerios, fortunately my guys sort of expect this from me. We'll see how next Friday goes. |
