I had two days of games. On the 23rd played GHQ Microsquad. 1945 eastern front. Big cat battle. Kingtigers, Jadgpanthers, & Panthers vs. JSII,s, Su152s, SU100s, T34-85s. I was on the German side, we were thrashed. It was 1945 so not unexpected. However the scope of the loss was pretty bad. Fun battle, good scenerio. On the 24th, 28mm Napoleonics using Shako-2. Battle of Klyastitsy 1812 in Russia. I was on the Russian side. Ultimately we didn't dislodge the French to prevent them from marching on St. Petersburg. Fun game, great table & figures. Enjoyed my first Shako 2 battle. I don't get many weekends with 2 days of games. Fun time. |

No gaming this weekend. Instead cleared and consolidated a shed's worth of material, old books, family photos, old VHS taped family adventures, and large doll collection. Carefully packed away a sports card collection from the 1960-1990 era too which needs a complete organizational effort as to what is in the widow's shed. Started on Thursday morning this project. Meanwhile…. on the modelling and future projects front: Building two FOW companies of King Tigers 1/72… really only need two or four models but I tend to build all the same kits at same go. Twelve tanks in all heading for the painting dept. Scenario planned is Peiper's charge from the FOW Ver3.0 scenario list game Other FOW 1/72 models….. ISU 130mm, IS-2 obr1944, London city bus WWII era, 2x PZIII D, 3x Whirlwind AA, 3x Ostwind AA, two british WWI trucks, Since the Ostwind and Whirlwind Hasegawa kits came with extra Pz IV hull decks and turrets on the parts sprue, WR plans some extra PZ bunkers models (dug in old tank hulls) and swap out the AA turrets with Pz IV 75mm turrets for flexible use on tabletop. Started work on painting 6x6 battalions of 28mm miniatures for the Hamburg Civic militia (Hanseatische Bürgergarde 1813-1814), 1x4 jager co's, two artillery batteries with artillerymen, and locate some stray Prussian uhlans for the kavalry sqn. link Alongside the Burgergarde will be the Hanseatische Legion 1813 four 28mm battalions (1x10, 2x7, and 1x6 btns.), and artillery crew miniatures have first colors too. GUess I was busy this weekend after all. |

Western gunfight Saturday night with It Came from Beyond the Still. That's a great game, by the way. It's easily adapted for many type games. Sunday was a Flames of War (V3 of course!) Game in our Crimea campaign. My total inability to make a saving throw… But let's not talk about me! |
